Introduction

The “MRCP 2 Masterclass: Radiology” Study Day complements the MRCP 2 Masterclass Programme. It covers the various aspects of imaging that a candidate is likely to face in the MRCP 2 exam. Unlike MRCP 1 which does not have any images, MRCP 2 does. A chest x-ray finding would be described in the stem of an MCQ for MRCP 1. However, in MRCP 2 the chest x-ray image would be presented and the candidate would be expected to interpret the findings for themselves.

Having a structured approach to radiological imaging is therefore essential for MRCP 2. The Study Day covers the following areas of imaging:

  • Chest imaging
  • Abdominal imaging
  • Central nervous system imaging
  • Cardiovascular system imaging
  • Musculoskeletal imaging

What you will learn

Before the Study Day
1. You should study the subject material using your own books/notes.
2. You should attempt the end-of-subject MCQs that are to be found online, via the CHE Learning Management System (LMS).

Although the questions may be done as an ‘open book’ exercise, it is recommended to do them under exam conditions, in one sitting. Give yourself 3.5 hours to do the full set of MCQs.

During the Study Day
The Consultant will go through all the answers from the LMS-based end-of-subject MCQs. In particular, he/she will focus on:

  • High yield knowledge.
  • Reasoning techniques.
  • Common mistakes candidates make, and how to avoid them.
  • How to use the equating system of scoring to your advantage.
  • How to answer questions rapidly, in the minimum possible time.
  • How to increase likelihood of choosing the correct option, if you are unsure about an answer.
  • How to approach questions that you know nothing about – go from feeling despair to increased hope.

  • In-person intensive teaching from a Senior Lecturer / Consultant (via Zoom)
  • The first 10 doctors to book will also get personalised feedback from the Consultant on their knowledge and techniques.

  2. No refunds are given if a delegate should withdraw, cancel or change their mind after booking.
